Welcome to WinXLator
WinXLator is free machine translation software designed for Windows Operating Systems. WinXLator automatically translates texts from one language to another in different languages.
Unlike other free machine translator software, WinXLator works without existing Internet connection.
WinXLator is freeware. WinXLator is free, because it uses open-source/free technologies that limit the usage to non-commercial use.
The aim in the design of WinXLator was to make the software minimalistic. The focus is in the machine translation.
To translate text simply select the source and target languages (you may turn off automated language detection) and type text to translate as shown in the image. Unknown words are marked in red in the translation. As you type the text is translated automatically; while the translation engine is busy, there's a red dot above the target language indicating that the text is being translated.
Automated Language Detection
Automated Language Detection is applied when the user has entered 10 or more words in the text to translate. The automated language detection is based on language samples. In its first public version the language samples are not good enough to make the language detection work smoothly with closely related languages.
(This feature works in the Internet.) To conjugate verbs in the selected source or target language, click the "book" button to the right of source/target texts. Clicking the button will open Verbix on-line verb conjugator in your default webbrowser.
